Showcase Opportunities/Residencies for Teaching Artists

  • ColLABo | CMU Drama Department | Application Due Feb 15th, 2023, Residency takes place May 22nd-June 5th, 2023 – Working out of CMU School of Drama’s Purnell Center for the Arts, ColLABo will bring together diverse cohorts of American theater artists for two weeks, with a particular focus on developing new stories centering minority populations and marginalized voices, and reinterpreting established plays to explore diverse perspectives.
  • Tough Art Residency | Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh | Application Deadline: Sunday March 12th, 2023 at 11:59pm, Residency takes place June 6th-Sept. 13th, 2023 – Work collaboratively with Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh staff to create and develop an engaging work of art to be exhibited in the museum.

  • Public Art Grant for U.S. Cities | Bloomberg Philanthropies | Applications Due Feb 15th. 2023 at 5pm EST – Bloomberg Philanthropies is hosting a webinar for applicants to a new round of the Public Art Challenge, which provides up to $1M for U.S. Cities. This grant round will offer as many as 10 awards for temporary public art projects with strong public-private partnerships that address critical civic issues.
  • The Awesome Foundation Disability Grant | The Awesome Foundation | accept submissions between the 1st and the 15th of every month – Launched in April 2017, Awesome Disability is an independent chapter of the Awesome Foundation, a global community that provides micro-grants with no strings attached. The trustees of Awesome Disability are people with disabilities that want to support ideas and projects in our community.
  • Access Microfund | Remake Learning, No Deadline (offers small funds to pay for special accommodations, important to note “This is not a grant but a reimbursement. For planning purposes, you must apply before you spend the money for the accommodation.”)

  • Creative Learning Funding | The Heinz Endowments | Deadline is Twice Annually – Applications are reviewed twice annually, with occasional exceptions for rapid response needs. In a typical calendar year, the spring deadline is February 15th 2023. (Fall deadline will be August 1 2023)
