Goals

  • Learn the process required to create a remix in Ableton using an acapella and an instrumental of two different songs.

  • (NSA MU:Cr2.1.T.HSI: ) Select melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic ideas to develop into a larger work using digital tools and resources.

In this 18 minute video, students will learn the technical skills to create their own remix in Ableton Live. Students can obtain Ableton Live Lite for free by purchasing the beat making app Koala, which can be purchased for $3.99 on iOS and Android smartphones or tablets. After purchasing the Koala app, students can enter their email address within the app to receive their complementary Ableton license. In addition to Ableton Live Lite, students will need to access the Touch the Sky instrumental and and acapella, which will be included on the Creative Learning Rapid Response website.
