Create an ink and/or a fabric dye using two different traditional processes
Have an ink and/or hand-dyed piece of fabric to use in a future art project
Develop a new relationship to the potential art supplies in their everyday lives.
During this creative workshop, each participant will create 1–2 nontoxic inks or dyes that can be used in future art projects. Using a pre-sewn object such as a napkin, baby onesie, or bandana is recommended, so you can enjoy the results of your efforts right away. Also, students will learn vocabulary that will help them understand and communicate the basic materials of creating inks and dyes out of natural items.
